US Trip part 4

I had arranged to meet my brother in Rock Springs, WY.
Where we would put my bike in the back of his truck
and then travel down to Durango, CO
He showed up just after 12:30 am
I let him in
he hit the bed, and started snoring
I had already been listening to Rob snore for two hours
so when my skanky brother started
Strange thoughts entered my head
The first
deal with them both
get a good nights sleep
make a run for the Mexican border
The second
put in some earplugs
I opted for the second
I am quite lazy :)

Our route would take us through the
Flaming Gorge Reservoir
into Utah, then back to Colorado

The wind was intense
I was quite glad that I was not on my bike

Storms came, and left very quickly

By about now I thought that I had heard all I could about the wonders of the
GREEN CHILE
but I had not reconed on the next
seven hours

The landscape lulled me

Bla bla bla green chiles

You would not be such a grump if bla bla green chiles

This is a photo of a photo of the dam
We could not get down to see it

By now the heat had started to climb
and I was wining

In Vernal
They have set up a memorial
For the Vietnam war

Woo Hoo Colorado

Great roads

This is leading into the town of Ouray CO.

Now headed over
Red Mountain Pass

The painted line IS the edge of the road

A few thousand foot drop to the bottom

Looking back towards Ouray

This stream runs through quite a band of yellow stone
That is why it is such a lovely shade

Near the top of the pass
was another small mining town

The next town that you come to is Silverton

This is Jesus of the mines

A few shots of Silverton

Just outside Durango
Is this amazing mineral spring

After stamping around in the waters for a while
my brother said" come wash your face"

No thanks :(

It was dark when we finally made it too my brothers place
So, unload everything and have some beer
